Job summary

Hentzen Coatings in Milwaukee is seeking a Touch Up Manufacturing Operator for the 1st shift (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM). You will fill aerosol cans under 6 oz, package kits, and apply labels to meet exact weights. A math test is required for consideration and daily duties include data entry and material handling.

The role emphasizes accuracy, teamwork, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Prior experience is helpful, but training is provided for clean-up, hazardous materials, and PPE

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • 3–12 months of related manufacturing experience with ability to use various equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Fill containers to specified weights and assemble labels and containers.
  • Document data accurately and enter into the computer.
  • Identify product and batch numbers and move finished goods to shipping.
  • Follow clean-up, housekeeping, PPE and safety requirements.

Touch Up Manufacturing Operator

Monday–Friday, 1st shift, (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)

Pay Range

$19.00 - $24.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications).

Position Summary

The Touch Up Manufacturing Operator performs all operations required to fill aerosol cans or any containers under 6 fluid oz. This includes filling the containers, packaging of kits, and labeling.

The successful candidates will have an acceptable score on the math test.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assemble and hook up required equipment in order to fill containers to a specified weight.
  • Assemble proper labels and correct number of containers and attach labels according to company standards.
  • Complete proper documentation (such as a fill slip) correctly and accurately. Enter data into computer.
  • Identify product numbers and corresponding batch numbers.
  • Stack and transport finished product to shipping department.
  • Clean up and properly store equipment used. Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures.
  • Under supervision and with proper PPE, the employee will be required to handle hazardous materials.
  • As part of the housekeeping procedures, the employee may be involved with the disposal of hazardous waste. The initial training of how to properly dispose of hazardous waste will be performed by the Environmental and Safety department or the department supervisor. Annual training of the same will be performed by the EHS department.
  • Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements
  • Preferred education level: a high school diploma and/or GED. It is desirable for the employee to possess additional specific related training.
  • Preferred experience level: basic knowledge of paint/coatings, mixing procedures, etc., and three to twelve months of related manufacturing experience with the ability to use several types of related equipment.
Skills And Abilities
  • Basic math skills and the ability to convert various measurements (i.e., gallons to quarts, pints to gallons, etc.) required.
  • The ability to operate a forklift with forklift driving certification is strongly preferred and the ability to use a pallet jack.
  • Experience with automated manufacturing equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate with others, both verbally and written.
  • Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals.
  • Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner.
  • Clean work habits and some skill in handling large volumes of liquid.
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
  • The ability to use the following tools is preferred: calculator, computer, pipe wrench, bung wrench, pliers, hex key, screwdriver, ratchet, crimper, mallet, scales, pumps, filter housings, and paint shaker.

Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to communicate verbally and audibly in a manufacturing or operational setting.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and move throughout the work area.
  • Regular use of hands and fingers to handle, manipulate, and control objects, tools, or equipment.
  • Required to sit, balance, stoop, and occasionally reach above shoulder level.
  • Occasional operation of machinery using foot controls
  • May be required to climb, balance, and reach overhead as part of job duties.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 65 lbs.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Safety shoes, safety glasses, and flame-retardant uniforms or lab coats are required in production areas.
  • Respirators and ear plugs are required for specific production processes.
