Job summary

Hentzen Coatings is hiring a Filling Operator for a Monday–Friday 2nd shift (12:00 PM–8:30 PM) in Milwaukee, WI. The role fills, labels, and packages products, maintaining accurate records and weight specifications.

You’ll operate equipment to fill and package, document data, and ensure quality and safety standards. Prior manufacturing experience and basic math skills are preferred; forklift certification is a plus and PPE is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Fill containers to a specified weight using the required equipment.
  • Label and package final products.
  • Enter data into the computer and maintain proper documentation.
  • Identify product and batch numbers and ensure proper storage and cleanup.
  • Follow safety, PPE, and housekeeping procedures.
  • Assist with hazardous materials handling under supervision.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 2nd shift, (12:00 PM - 8:30 PM)

Pay Range:

$19.00-$22.00; including shift premium $ 21.85-$25.30 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Position Summary

The Filling Operator performs all operations required to fill, label and package containers with the final product.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assemble and hook up required equipment in order to fill containers to a specified weight using a specified filter medium.
  • Cleans production vessels as required.
  • Complete proper documentation (such as a fill slip) correctly and accurately. Enter data into computer.
  • Identify product numbers and corresponding batch numbers.
  • Clean up and properly store equipment used. Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures.
  • Under supervision and with proper PPE, the employee will be required to handle hazardous materials.
  • As part of the housekeeping procedures, the employee may be involved with the disposal of hazardous waste. The initial training of how to properly dispose of hazardous waste will be performed by the Environmental and Safety department or the department supervisor. Annual training of the same will be performed by the EHS department.
  • Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.
  • Clean up equipment and properly store equipment.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements
  • Preferred education level: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred experience level: Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
Skills and Abilities
  • Basic math skills and the ability to convert various measurements (i.e., gallons to quarts, pints to gallons, etc.) required.
  • Forklift certification is strongly preferred and the ability to use a pallet jack.
  • Computer skills preferred.
  • Ability to communicate with others, both verbally and written.
  • Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals.
  • Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner.
  • Color tinting and Quality Control experience helpful but not required.
Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to communicate verbally and audibly in a manufacturing or operational setting.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and move throughout the work area.
  • Regular use of hands and fingers to handle, manipulate, and control objects, tools, or equipment.
  • Required to sit, balance, stoop, and occasionally reach above shoulder level.
  • Occasional operation of machinery using foot controls
  • May be required to climb, balance, and reach overhead as part of job duties.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 65 lbs.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Safety shoes, safety glasses, and flame-retardant uniforms or lab coats are required in production areas.
  • Respirators and ear plugs are required for specific production processes.
