Job summary

Apple is seeking a Touch ID Product Design Mechanical Engineer to own end-to-end design, integration, and validation of sensing modules across its product lineup. You will bridge mechanical design, materials, packaging, and high-volume manufacturing to deliver reliable hardware.

You will lead design concepts with a multifunctional team, perform engineering analysis, DOE experiments, and documentation. The role involves travel and collaboration with external vendors to bring prototypes to mass

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field required.
• Hands-on experience in mechanical design, failure analysis, or product validation.
• Experience applying structured root-cause methodologies and DOE.

Responsibilities

• Identify design solutions and inform final design decisions.
• Lead cross-functional team through failure analysis to identify root causes.
• Coordinate path-to-closure on complex issues across disciplines.
• Apply rigorous experimental design to reduce design risk quickly.
• Run tolerance studies to ensure manufacturability within tolerances.
• Communicate with engineering leadership and support vendor testing.
