Job summary

Apple, Inc. is seeking a talented mechanical engineer in Sunnyvale to own end-to-end design, development and validation of sensing technology for Apple products.

You will work on a multifaceted team to generate concepts and deliver engineering analysis and documentation for critical components. You will drive tolerance studies, support external manufacturing vendors, and help ensure cosmetic, performance and reliability standards are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to meet requirements and schedules.
• Solid understanding of materials, solid mechanics, thermodynamics and related fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Create specifications, detailed design and 2D documentation of parts and assemblies.
• Electrical component and module integration.
• Build proof of concept and prototypes, testing and analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to meet integration, performance and reliability requirements.
• Partner with external vendors and internal manufacturing teams to optimize for function and cosmetics.
• Ensure designs meet requirements through stress, tolerance and failure analyses.
• Analyze data from builds and design of experiments.
