Job summary

WorkCare in St. Louis, MO seeks a Part-Time Athletic Trainer to deliver industrial injury prevention services focused on total worker health. The role supports OSHA first aid guidelines across regional service centers, with a schedule of Mon/Wed/Fri 9:00am–5:00pm.

Responsibilities include triage, first aid, injury case coordination, ergonomic assessments, and coaching for lifestyle improvements to reduce injuries. Strong communication and privacy practices are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Exercise Science, Physical Education, or related field is required.
• CPR/First Aid certification is required.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide triage, first-aid, education and/or escalation of care if needed.
• Facilitate ongoing communication with all parties involved in managing an injury case.
• Support the injured employee, monitor medical care, promote reporting, and participate in accident investigation.
• Assist in finding temporarily modified work in compliance with physical restrictions.
• Help employees prevent musculoskeletal injuries and illnesses.
• Conduct ergonomic analyses and recommend workstation adjustments.
• Provide on-the-job education to improve body mechanics and posture.
• Assist employees in lifestyle improvements such as nutrition and fitness.
• Address risks related to workers’ total health to reduce injuries.
• Develop job-specific agility routines for Work Hardening.
• Proactively engage with employees at their work location.
• Maintain records of triage, assessment, first aid, and education provided.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Exercise Science, Physical Education, or related field

Master’s Degree in relevant field

CPR/First Aid certification

Valid Driver’s License
