Job summary

Michael Best & Friedrich, LLP is seeking a Total Rewards Specialist to administer and improve the Firm’s benefits, leave, and compensation programs, delivering an excellent employee experience and strong governance. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you will partner with vendors, Payroll, Finance, and Firm Leadership to provide accurate, compliant total rewards services.

You will help shape the compensation philosophy, participate in benchmarking, salary range design, and governance,

Qualifications

5+ years of total rewards experience with emphasis on benefits and compensation administration.
Experience administering leave programs (FMLA, parental leave, STD) with a third-party administrator.
Knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA compliance and administration practices.
Experience supporting compensation programs including salary surveys and market research.
HRIS proficiency; UKG experience preferred.
Strong communication and discretion with sensitive information.
Proficient in Excel and HR reporting; high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Manage and improve benefits and leave programs in partnership with vendors.
Lead open enrollment planning and execution, including communications and configurations.
Serve as UKG benefits module SME; maintain data integrity and reporting.
Ensure compliance with COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA; support audits and filings.
Lead benefits compliance efforts; coordinate notices and reporting.
Provide high-quality support to employees and HR Advisors; mentor HR Representative.
Support compensation philosophy and structures with pay bands and benchmarking.
Partner with leadership to maintain a comprehensive compensation program.
Conduct market research and compensation surveys; analyze competitiveness and equity.
Manage workers’ compensation and unemployment claims with Payroll.
Oversee leave benefits (FMLA/ parental/ STD) with HR and third-party administrator.
