POSITION OVERVIEW
The Total Rewards Director will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of compensation, benefits, and retirement programs across a geographically diverse workforce in the United States and Canada. This highly visible leadership opportunity will focus on building compensation structures and incentive programs from the ground up while ensuring competitive, compliant, and sustainable total rewards strategies. Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, this individual will serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership, helping shape programs that attract, engage, and retain exceptional talent while supporting continued organizational growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and Lead Compensation Strategy: Design and implement comprehensive compensation frameworks, including job architecture, salary structures, pay grades, compensation philosophies, and governance processes across U.S. and Canadian operations.
- Develop Incentive and Rewards Programs: Create competitive commission, bonus, and incentive compensation plans for field and sales teams while conducting market benchmarking, pay equity analyses, and compensation modeling to support business objectives.
- Oversee Benefits and Retirement Programs: Lead benefits renewals, open enrollment, vendor relationships, retirement plan administration, and benefits optimization initiatives while ensuring programs remain competitive, cost-effective, and compliant.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with applicable U.S. and Canadian employment, compensation, benefits, and retirement regulations, including pay transparency, wage-and-hour requirements, leave administration, and required reporting.
- Support Organizational Growth and Acquisitions: Partner with HR, Finance, Legal, and operational leadership on mergers and acquisitions, workforce integration, compensation harmonization, and strategic workforce planning.
- Drive Total Rewards Innovation and Leadership: Develop meaningful compensation and benefits analytics, improve employee communications, provide guidance to HR and operational leaders, manage vendor partnerships, and oversee assigned team members to strengthen organizational effectiveness.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Compensation Architecture & Program Development: Demonstrated success designing and implementing compensation structures, salary frameworks, pay philosophies, and governance processes from the ground up, including hands‑on experience developing sales, field, commission, and incentive compensation programs.
- U.S. and Canadian Total Rewards Expertise: Strong understanding of compensation, employee benefits, retirement programs, and employment regulations across both the United States and Canada, with experience supporting geographically dispersed or multi‑site organizations.
- Strategic Leadership & Business Acumen: Proven ability to lead total rewards initiatives, advise executive stakeholders, analyze workforce costs, manage vendor relationships, and translate compensation and benefits data into actionable business recommendations.
- HR Technology & Analytical Capabilities: Strong HRIS experience, preferably with UKG, along with advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities, compensation modeling, market pricing methodologies, HR reporting, and data analytics.
- Organizational Growth & Collaboration: Experience supporting growing or evolving organizations, preferably involving mergers and acquisitions, workforce integration, or the development of new total rewards functions. Backgrounds in service‑oriented, healthcare, hospitality, retail, or similarly complex industries are especially valued; CCP, CEBS, or CBP certifications are a plus.
