Job summary

GoMacro is seeking a Benefits and Payroll Specialist to administer employee benefits programs and ensure payroll compliance across multiple states, including leave management and HIPAA-compliant handling of data.

Responsibilities

• Administer day-to-day employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, HSA/FSA, and retirement plans.
• Serve as the primary contact for employee benefit questions and vendor coordination.
• Manage annual open enrollment, system setup, communication, and troubleshooting.
• Audit benefit enrollments, payroll deductions, and vendor invoices for accuracy.
• Support benefits education initiatives to enhance understanding and utilization.
• Ensure payroll data accuracy and compliance; coordinate with Accounting.
• Monitor wage and hour regulations to ensure compliance.
• Administer all leave programs (FMLA, ADA, personal medical, parental, workers’ comp).
• Track eligibility and return-to-work processes; maintain confidentiality.
• Manage unemployment claims and wage verification; respond to inquiries.
• Prepare filings and reports (ACA, 5500s, audits) with vendors/consultants.
• Identify process improvements to enhance employee experience and data accuracy.
• Provide general HR support within a small HR team.
