Job summary

DZO Hospitality is hiring a Tortilla Cook to prepare fresh, handmade tortillas right in front of guests in our Miami restaurant. Training is provided, and there are opportunities for both full-time and part-time roles, with a focus on teamwork and quality

You will work with our kitchen team to follow traditional Mexican recipes, maintain safety standards, and contribute to a welcoming dining experience. Candidates must be 18+ and legally eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to stand for extended periods and perform physical duties.
• Able to follow recipes, instructions, and food safety procedures.
• Willing to work lunch and dinner shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fresh, handmade tortillas at the tortilla-making station.
• Prepare masa (dough) and other ingredients per recipes.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure quality and timely service.
• Assist with salsas, condiments, and side dishes as needed.
• Provide a welcoming experience for guests when tortillas are made in front of them.

What Will You Do? / ¿Cuáles Serán Tus Responsabilidades?

ENGLISH:

• Prepare fresh, handmade tortillas using traditional Mexican techniques.
• Prepare masa (dough) and other ingredients following our recipes.
• Work at our tortilla-making station, creating a welcoming experience for our guests.
• Assist with the preparation of salsas, condiments, side dishes, and other food items.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
• Follow food safety procedures, proper food storage, labeling, and FIFO inventory rotation.
• Work together with our kitchen team to ensure excellent food quality and timely service.
• Bring a positive attitude, teamwork, and attention to detail to every shift!

ESPAÑOL:

• Preparar tortillas frescas y hechas a mano utilizando técnicas tradicionales mexicanas.
• Preparar la masa y otros ingredientes siguiendo nuestras recetas.
• Trabajar en nuestra estación de tortillas, creando una experiencia agradable para nuestros clientes.
• Ayudar en la preparación de salsas, acompañamientos y otros alimentos.
• Mantener tu estación de trabajo limpia, organizada y segura.
• Cumplir con las normas de seguridad alimentaria, almacenamiento, etiquetado y rotación de inventario FIFO.
