Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP (FMG) seeks an Associate Attorney with 3+ years of litigation experience for our Albuquerque, NM office. The role offers meaningful responsibility, direct client exposure, and collaboration with partners from day one.

FMG handles tort and general liability matters for businesses and insurers, offering a national platform with cross-office collaboration and robust training through FMG Trial College and FMG University.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active Nevada Bar license and in good standing.
• 3+ years of litigation experience, preferably involving tort, general liability, or related matters.
• Experience with discovery, depositions, motion practice, and court appearances.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively.
• Strong judgment, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated and collaborative team player.
• Commitment to responsive, high-quality client service.

Responsabilités

• Manage tort and general liability matters from initial evaluation through resolution.
• Analyze claims and develop case strategy.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other substantive legal documents.
• Prepare and respond to written discovery.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Attend hearings, mediations, and other proceedings.
• Conduct legal research and provide thoughtful analysis of complex legal issues.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding strategy, case developments, risks, and potential outcomes.
• Negotiate effectively with opposing counsel and other parties.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Collaborate with attorneys across FMG offices and practice groups.
