Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson in the Charleston area seeks a Survey Data Technician to manage the data processing phase of field surveys. You will produce topographic plots, terrain models, plats and notes, and generate design files for project completion.

The role requires a high school diploma, 3–5 years of software-based data reduction experience, and a valid driver’s license. Office duties predominate with occasional field activity and standard benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years of experience with data reduction and drafting software.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Carlson or MicroStation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Topographic plotting, terrain modeling, plat preparation and note reduction.
• Office survey activities in line with standards; QA/QC tasks.
• Property owner and utility records research; track job progress.
• Coordinate information for stakeout services and ensure geometric accuracy.
• Prepare finished grade sheets, topographic maps and survey reports.
