Job summary

RCG, Inc. seeks a Systems Administrator – Windows to support a federal contract in Washington, DC. This is a hands-on role responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and securing Windows servers and virtual environments.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in CS/IT, 3–5 years of related experience, an active Top Secret clearance, and CompTIA Security+ certification, with strong Windows Server and virtualization expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or related field, 3–5 years of sysadmin experience, and US citizenship with active Top Secret clearance.
• CompTIA Security+ certification required.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, and 2019 environments.
• Hands-on experience administering Windows servers and virtualization environments.
• Familiarity with databases, patch management, and LAN/WAN networking.
• Knowledge of network security systems, intrusion detection, and data backup.
• Experience managing user access, permissions, and system security.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills; good written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and within a technical team.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and support Windows servers and virtual environments.
• Monitor Windows systems for stability, availability, performance, security, and scalability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve server, OS, application, and user issues.
• Review logs to identify and solve technical problems.
• Perform routine maintenance, updates, and patching.
• Manage user accounts, access, permissions, and related admin tasks.
• Maintain server security and remediation activities.
• Perform system backups and support recovery activities.
• Provide technical support for users and back-end systems.
• Support Windows Server upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvements.
• Collaborate with IT managers and technical team members; maintain documentation.
