Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) seeks a Network Engineer to support ETM activities at the Pentagon on a full-time, onsite basis in Arlington, VA. Telecommuting is not allowed due to the nature of work.

The role requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance, IAT Level II, and Aruba networking expertise. You will design and implement LAN/WAN networks, configure routers/switches/firewalls, and coordinate hardware/software upgrades while ensuring security and backup capabilities.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
• IAT Level II certification.
• One of Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Brocade, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP, Aruba.
• Willing to obtain Aruba certification within 90 days of start.
• 5+ years of experience in network administration.
• Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Designs, plans, and builds communications networks.
• Configures routers and switches, and firewalls for LAN and WAN, and VPN concentrators.
• Coordinates LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements.
• Monitors the network with industry-leading technologies.
• Provides technical solutions using the engineering design process.
• Plans enhancements and implements changes.
• Analyzes customer requirements and provides solutions to difficult problems.
• Maintains network and backups, ensures policy compliance.
• Coordinates hardware/software acquisitions and subcontractor services.
• Creates plans and configures data communication networks.
• Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities.
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology.
• Designs and builds hardware/software for networks, and leads less-experienced staff.
