Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to modernize and deploy a critical government info system. You will build GitLab CI/CD pipelines, manage Nexus, and run Solr clusters with ZooKeeper in prod.

Expect Windows Server admin tasks, AWS migration planning, and IaC with CloudFormation/ Terraform. The role blends on-site Washington, DC with flexible remote options, and requires Top Secret/SCI with CI Polygraph clearance.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
Nexus Repository management experience.
Building and maintaining Apache Solr clusters with ZooKeeper.
Strong expertise in Windows Server administration.
Strong AWS experience: EC2, VPC, IAM, S3; CloudFormation/ Terraform.
Infrastructure-as-code practices.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
Automate deployment processes across dev, staging, and prod.
Manage Nexus Repository for artifact storage and dependency management.
Develop infrastructure-as-code solutions using CloudFormation and/or Terraform.
Build and maintain Solr clusters with ZooKeeper in production.
Administer Windows Server environments and perform upgrades.
Plan migration from on-prem VMware to AWS cloud infrastructure.
Configure AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3.
Develop containerization strategies for Java apps.
Apply configuration management tools and security controls.
Monitor performance and optimize systems.
