Job summary

Leidos in Maryland seeks a Network Systems Engineer to provide network operations and engineering sustainment support for a mission-critical IP messaging and transport network. The successful candidate will develop an understanding of the services offered to external organizations and provide lifecycle systems engineering support to development and operations.

Qualifications

Requires BS and 4-8 years of relevant experience or MS with 2-6 years.
Extensive routing (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS) and switching (VLANs, STP) knowledge.
Experience with Cisco enterprise routing, switching, and firewall devices.
Ability to travel up to 10% OCONUS.
Strong written and oral communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Network integration, testing, security engineering, and configuration support.
Collaborate with network architects to improve STIG baselines and compliance tracking.
Test and validate automation and best practice insertion.
Lead development of SOPs/TTPS.
Support CSI and system performance tuning.
Create and maintain Engineering Implementation Plans.
Support incident management and RCA activities.
Bridge operations and engineering for new deployments.
Travel up to 10%.
