Job summary

Socket.dev is hiring a Network Engineer to design, deploy, and manage diverse network infrastructures. You will work with carriers to provision connections, create and maintain network diagrams in Visio, and ensure secure, reliable operations.

The role requires 5+ years of networking experience, CCNA credentials, and the ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret clearance. Office-based Arlington, with collaboration across teams and clients, including DoS-related considerations.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience installing networks and infrastructure from design drawings.
• Proven expertise implementing and troubleshooting IPSec and GRE tunnels.
• Proficient at producing technical network drawings using Microsoft Visio.
• Minimum 3 years of experience troubleshooting routing and switching protocols.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructures (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
• CCNA Routing & Switching or CCNA Security certifications.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow trouble ticketing and asset management.
• Experience with Cisco Certifications.
• Top Secret Security Clearance is required; background checks may be required.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage network infrastructure solutions tailored to project requirements.
• Collaborate with telecommunications carriers to provision connectivity to client offices.
• Generate, update, and maintain documentation and network diagrams using Visio.
• Provide high-quality network engineering and technical services in a dynamic environment.
• Analyze and resolve computer network problems efficiently.
• Ensure adherence to security guidelines throughout operations.
• Architect, procure, and implement acquisition-compliant network solutions.
• Perform installations and remote turn-up/testing of network equipment.
• Manage diverse network environments with routing/switching protocols.
• Maintain uptime and support for remote network sites; collaborate with field staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
