Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) in Washington, DC, seeks an IT Systems Manager to lead a team delivering enterprise IT services for the DoE/NNSA. The role requires deep virtualization, storage, security, and cloud expertise to ensure reliable, secure systems operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree; years of experience may substitute.
• 10+ years of related professional experience.
• Extensive VMware virtualization deployment, management and troubleshooting.
• Storage technologies including SAN/NAS/backup solutions.
• Hands-on Commvault for enterprise backup and recovery.
• Strong Windows and Linux server environment knowledge.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and virtualization.
• Knowledge of database management systems (SQL).
• Networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls.
• IT security principles, compliance, and best practices.
• Experience with ITIL frameworks and DevOps methodologies.
• SLA/OLA management and service delivery concepts.

Responsibilities

• Manages systems professionals directly or through subordinates with leadership and coaching.
• Advises subordinates to meet schedules and resolve technical problems.
• Monitors system performance and implements reliability improvements.
• Develops and administers schedules and performance requirements.
• Has hiring responsibilities.
• Enhances information systems by identifying technology opportunities and strategies.
• Oversees maintenance of accounts, security, workflows and secure connectivity.
• Manages information systems policies and procedures.
