Job summary

Visual Soft, Inc seeks a qualified Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for a Top Secret, onsite position in Washington, DC. The ISSO ensures the security posture for assigned systems in accordance with DoD/federal policies and guidelines, coordinating with Security Division, ESOC, OGC and product managers.

Applicants should have active Top Secret clearance, a 4-year degree (or equivalent experience), and demonstrable knowledge of DoD/NIST RMF guidelines, with 5+ years in IT/IA engineering

Qualifications

• Active DoD Top Secret clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree or higher; education can be substituted by experience.
• Experience with DoD RMF or NIST 800-53 guidelines is essential.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are needed.
• Minimum 5 years of IT/IA Engineering, Certification and Accreditation/AA experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the operational security posture for assigned information systems or products.
• Oversee and maintain security configuration, practices, and procedures per federal policies.
• Lead security operations and management, including access control and policy implementation.
• Prepare security planning/documentation (SSP, ATO, etc.).
• Monitor and evaluate security through audits, assessments and risk management.
• Provide security awareness and training; manage security incidents (POA&Ms).
