Job summary

W3Global is seeking a Field Service Manager to oversee top drive system installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting on drilling rigs in the Odessa, TX area.

Responsibilities include coordinating field service schedules, monitoring equipment status, and maintaining inspection and repair documentation while collaborating with rig crews, logistics teams, and customers to plan moves and on-site support.

Qualifications

• Strong Communication and Customer Service skills for working with rig personnel, vendors, and internal teams.
• Experience with drilling rig equipment, particularly top drive systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety standards, adherence to industry regulations, and use of proper PPE and procedures.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, service documentation, and equipment specifications.
• Willingness and ability to mentor field service technicians and be able to field service calls / troubleshoot
• Proven leadership, team coordination, and scheduling skills in a field operations or mechanical services environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate or degree in mechanical, industrial, or petroleum-related field is beneficial.
• There will be a background check and a motor vehicle check as position comes with a company vehicle

• Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating schedules for field service work, monitoring equipment status, and managing documentation for inspections, repairs, and upgrades.
• The manager collaborates with rig crews, trucking and logistics teams, and customers to plan equipment moves, deliveries, and on-site support.
• The role also involves training team members on safe handling of top drive systems, reviewing service reports, and implementing improvements to processes and customer service.
• Company has a modern shop and offices for this work and a portable dyno for running out refurbs
• There could be possibilities of power catwalk work and iron roughneck overhauls to keep the shop busy
