Job summary

Marelli in Pulaski, TN is seeking a Tool Maker to maintain and repair injection molds, reporting to the Tool Room Supervisor. The role is based at our Pulaski office and involves extensive hands-on machining, welding, and mold maintenance.

Ideal candidates have at least 5 years of mold repair experience, can read blueprints, and are proficient with SolidWorks, 3-axis machines, and Kaizen processes. This is a hands-on position with a focus on quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Mold repairs experience at least 5 years.
• Mold design and fabrication of basic components (sleeves, inserts, horn pins and ejector pins).
• Mold spotting and flash repair.
• Venting repair and making.
• Internal and external threads machining.
• Staubli system repair and cooling water systems interpretation.
• Mold descaling.
• Self-directed work orders at shop and molding machines.
• Minimum 2 years leadership of tool makers.
• Skills in quoting and supplier contact.
• Outlook, Microsoft Office and Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Expertise in conventional machining (lathe, milling, drilling, tapping).
• Read blueprints and interpret designs.
• Use SolidWorks or related software for design tasks.
• Operate 3-axis machines and perform welding (TIG, micro TIG, MIG, laser).
• Polish and finish molds; spot inserts; manage hot runner systems.
• Understand interactions between mold, molding press, and process; apply Kaizen methods.
• Coordinate with external mold shops; perform preventive maintenance on molds.
• Handle tools, fixtures, and basic hydraulic/pneumatic/electrical tasks.

As the Tool Maker at Marelli, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing injections molds.

Your Responsibilities will be:

• Expertise skills in conventional machining (lathe, milling machine ,drilling, tapping)
• Blue print readings
• Solid works software design or related knowledge
• 3 axis machine
• Welding TIG, micro TIG, MIG and Laser welding
• Spotting inserts
• Polishing mirror surfaces with diamond compound, sand paper, and stoning
• Expert on hot runners (HRS)
• Basic Hydraulic
• Basics on Pneumatic
• Basics on electrical diagrams
• Thermocouples type J
• Knowledge on the interaction between mold, molding press and process
• Kaizen solving methodology
• Experience with external mold shops
• Experience on Preventive maintenance on injection molds
• Aerial crane experience
• Driving HILO’s desired experience
• Experience on hand tools
• Knowledge on metal hoses fabrication
• Fabrication skill with metal, aluminum and Delrin fixtures
• Leadership skills
