Job summary

Marelli Pulaski is seeking a Tool Maker to join the team, reporting to the Tool Room Supervisor. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing injections molds at the Pulaski TN office.

The candidate will work with conventional machining, welding (TIG/MIG/laser), mold/press interactions, and preventive maintenance, including experience with external mold shops and fixtures fabrication. Strong understanding of metal assembly is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with conventional machining including lathe, milling, drilling and tapping.
• Proficient in SolidWorks or related design software.
• 5+ years mold repairs and mold design/fabrication experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair injection molds.
• Work with mold presses and process interactions.
• Experience with external mold shops and preventive maintenance.
• Demonstrate knowledge of hot runners, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical diagrams.
• Handle mold spotting, venting, and threading tasks.
• Develop fixtures using metal, aluminum and Delrin.

About the Position:

We are looking for a Tool Maker to join the Marelli Pulaski team, reporting directly to the Tool Room Supervisor.

This position is based at our office in Pulaski TN.

As the Tool Maker at Marelli, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing injections molds.

Your Responsibilities will be:

• Expertise skills in conventional machining (lathe, milling machine ,drilling, tapping)
• Solid works software design or related knowledge
• 3 axis machine
• Welding TIG, micro TIG, MIG and Laser welding
• Spotting inserts
• Polishing mirror surfaces with diamond compound, sand paper, and stoning
• Expert on hot runners (HRS)
• Basic Hydraulic
• Basics on Pneumatic
• Basics on electrical diagrams
• Thermocouples type J
• Knowledge on the interaction between mold, molding press and process
• Experience with external mold shops
• Experience on Preventive maintenance on injection molds
• Aerial crane experience
• Experience on hand tools
• Knowledge on metal hoses fabrication
• Fabrication skill with metal, aluminum and Delrin fixtures

What Qualifications you will bring:

• Authorized to work in the Untied States without sponsorship
• Mold repairs experience at least 5 years
• Mold design and fabrication of basic components as sleeves, inserts, horn pines and ejector pines
• Mold spotting
• Venting repair and making
• Internal and external threads machining
• Staubli system repairing and interpretation of cooling water systems
• Mold descaling
• Work orders following at the shop and at the molding machines (self-directed)
• 2 years minimum experience leading tool makers
• Skills on quoting and supplier contact
• Outlook and Microsoft, making presentations and Excel files
