Job summary
Pinewood Tool in Wisconsin is seeking a Lead Toolmaker / Toolroom Supervisor to lead our precision machine shop floor. This is a hands-on leadership role—working alongside machinists, supporting difficult setups, improving throughput, and maintaining the highest quality standards.
You will mentor toolmakers, review prints and GD&T, coordinate quoting and scheduling with ownership, manage tooling and supplier relationships, and help shape the future growth of Pinewood Tool.
Qualifications
- 15+ years machining precision tooling or complex components.
- Strong toolmaker background.
- Experience leading machinists.
- Expert CNC setup experience.
- Strong understanding of GD&T.
- Experience with milling, turning, grinding, and EDM.
- Ability to solve difficult machining problems.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of skilled machinists and toolmakers.
- Coordinate daily production priorities and ensure smooth workflow.
- Perform complex CNC setups when needed and troubleshoot problems.
- Review prints, GD&T, and manufacturing methods to maintain quality.
- Assist with quoting, scheduling, and supplier coordination.
