Colonial Group in Portland, TN is seeking a forklift operator to manage die washing, staging dies, and organizing racks. You will support toolmakers, follow 5-S practices, and work as part of a safety‑conscious team.

Qualifications include forklift certification, overhead crane certification, ability to lift 35–75 lbs, English proficiency, and basic computer skills to use Shop Edge. Travel is minimal; you will lead by example, keep areas clean, and follow lockout/tagout procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Forklift experience required; crane experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Tow motor inspection at start of the shift.
• Review tool room work orders for priority of dies to wash and stage on open horses or die racks.
• Wash all dies pulled from the press and return non‑essential dies to their rack.
• Return completed dies to the rack after toolmakers repair and tag.
• Assist toolmakers with reassembly of dies.
• Maintain and organize die wash area and die racks in the shop.
• Dump scrap hopper for the tool room as needed.
• Dump trash cans as needed.
• Follow all safety policies and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Work as a team to help others accomplish tasks.
• Lead by example and maintain a positive attitude.

GENERAL SUMMARY

To ensure that all dies are being washed prior to going back on the storage rack. To ensure that all dies requiring work are staged for the toolmakers. To take dies back to their designated racks once work is completed. To help ensure 5-S is being practiced in the shop. Requires forklift certification and overhead crane certification. Attendance is a must.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Tow motor inspection at start of the shift.
2. Review tool room work order list for priority of dies to bring into shop to wash and stage on open horses or in the die rack in the shop. Keep die horses loaded.
3. Wash all dies that have been pulled from the press. Take those that are not required in the shop back to their designated rack.
4. Take completed dies back to the rack once the toolmakers have completed repairs and green tagged the dies.
5. Assist toolmakers as needed with putting dies back together.
6. Maintain & organize die wash area and die racks in the shop.
7. Dump scrap hopper for tool room as needed.
8. Dump trash cans as needed.
9. All other duties as required by the Tooling Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Experience

• Press experience preferred.
• Forklift experience a must.
• Crane experience preferred.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED

Language Skills

• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language (English).

Computer/Software

• Willing to learn or possess computer skills to utilize Shop Edge.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching and lifting required daily
• Must be able to lift 35 lbs. multiple times throughout the day
• Must be able to lift 75 lbs. 3 - 4 times per day
