Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI is seeking Tool and Template Makers to operate manual lathes, mills, surface grinders, and CNC lathes/milling machines. You will read blueprints and schematics, perform precision measurement, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances.

Applicants must have completed a bona fide apprenticeship or eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination. Starting pay is $44.915 per hour, with top rate $45.115 after three months, plus comprehensive benefits.

Rate Of Pay And Benefits

Tool and Template Makers are paid a top hourly base rate of $45.115, plus applicable shift, overtime, and holiday premiums. The starting rate for this position is $44.915 with pay increases to the top rate upon completion of three consecutive months of employment.

Tasks will require a certain amount of reaching, lifting, twisting, bending, and use of a PMHV or hilo. Ability to perceive differences in details and prints related to trade. Must be able to effectively maneuver about vehicles, equipment, assembly lines or stations, and about facility.

Candidates must have completed a bona fide apprenticeship, or have 8 years of previous experience, or have a combination of previous work experience and training equivalent to a bona fide apprenticeship program in the trade.

• Operation of manual Lathes, Mills, Surface Grinders, Radial Drills and metal cutting machines.
• Experience Fabricating and repairing Fixtures and Tooling
• Set up and operation of CNC Lathes and Milling machines
• Use of precision measuring Tools
• Blueprint and schematic reading
