Qualifications

• 5+ years of Moldmaking or Toolmaking experience in an injection molding environment.
• Strong understanding of mold components, construction, and molding processes.
• Ability to read complex blueprints and engineering drawings.

Responsabilités

• Disassemble, debug, repair, and reassemble plastic injection molds to spec.
• Troubleshoot mold performance, mechanisms, and tooling fit for part quality.
• Operate manual tool room machinery (surface grinder, Bridgeport, etc.).
• Inspect mold components with dial indicators and precision tools.
• Read blueprints and work orders; document and report issues.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to meet specifications.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and proper tool operation.
• Provide input on tooling improvements and preventative maintenance.

Job Title: Toolmaker / Moldmaker – Injection MoldsLocation: Bloomfield, CT (or add exact city if different)Salary: $35–$40/hrHours: Full TimeOpenings: 1Duration: Permanent opportunityPosition Summary and Special DutiesAs a Toolmaker / Moldmaker, you will play a critical role in building, repairing, and maintaining complex plastic injection molds. This hands-on position requires strong mechanical aptitude, precision machining experience, and a deep understanding of mold components and tooling processes.Your day-to-day duties will include, but may not be limited to:Disassemble, debug, repair, and reassemble plastic injection molds using industry best practicesTroubleshoot issues with mold performance, mechanisms, tooling fit, and part qualityOperate manual tool room machinery including surface grinders and Bridgeport milling machinesInspect mold components using dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, gauge blocks, and shadowgraphsPerform surface grinding, fitting, polishing, and bench work to exacting tolerancesRead and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and detailed work ordersWork to extremely tight tolerances (±0.0002\") and understand tolerance stacking principlesMaintain organized, clean work area and ensure safe operation of all tools and equipmentCollaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure molds are built and repaired to exact specificationsProvide input on tooling improvements, preventative maintenance, and mold performance enhancementsKnowledge or exposure to CNC Milling and EDM is a plusJob SpecificationsMinimum of 5 years of experience in Moldmaking or Toolmaking (injection molding environment strongly preferred)Strong understanding of mold components, mold construction, and injection molding processesAbility to operate manual tool room machines (surface grinder, Bridgeport, etc.)High proficiency with manual inspection tools and precision measurementStrong mechanical aptitude with ability to diagnose and correct mold issuesAbility to read complex blueprints and engineering drawingsKnowledge of CNC milling or EDM processes is beneficialMust be able to work independently with accuracy, consistency, and attention to detailOpportunityThis is a high-impact role for a skilled Toolmaker seeking long-term stability with a reputable manufacturing organization.
