Job summary

AeroFlow Technologies in Middletown, CT is seeking a Toolmaker to plan and execute complex manufacturing jobs and translate engineering drawings into production steps. You’ll interact with engineering, planning and quality teams and operate CNC lathes, mills, grinders, and other shop equipment to ensure parts meet specifications.

Ideal candidates have a toolmaking apprenticeship or 5 years of experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with toolmaking training or apprenticeship.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and CAD drawings.
• Ability to translate drawings into workable production steps.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical and electronic systems.
• Commitment to safety, quality and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute manufacturing jobs to meet customer requirements with varying complexity.
• Translate customer drawings into logical processes to complete tasks.
• Identify material and outside service needs and coordinate with internal teams.
• Inspect parts and tooling, completing required paperwork.
• Establish process schedules to meet delivery requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering, production planning, and quality teams.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine production needs.
• Use a range of measurement tools to verify quality and accuracy.
• Understand materials used for tooling, molds, dies, jigs and fixtures.
• Operate hand tools safely and proficiently; use CNC lathes, mills, grinders, drills, and welding equipment.
• Set up and operate workshop machinery efficiently and safely.
• Assemble/disassemble tools, jigs and fixtures; understand their function and interaction.
• Apply pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical and electronics concepts to machinery.
• Comply with quality and health & safety regulations during manufacturing.
• Test to verify operation and effectiveness of repairs and maintenance.
• Record job information and required documentation in the system.
