Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Savannah, GA is seeking an experienced Tool Fabrication Technician who will set up and operate tool shop machinery to fabricate, repair, and modify tooling from engineering drawings. You will lead a small team, plan layouts from drawings, check conformance with specs using precision measuring devices, and perform tool proves-out while maintaining safety.

Required: high school diploma or GED, 5 years tooling experience or relevant training, valid driver's

Qualifications

Must read and interpret engineering drawings.
Solid shop math for speeds, feeds, and tolerances.
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate shop equipment safely.

Responsibilities

Set up and proficiently operate tool shop machinery to fabricate, assemble, modify, and repair tooling from drawings.
Plan and lay out work from drawings and manuals.
Coordinate interrelated tooling with primary tasks.
Perform calculations of material and cutter speeds and feeds.
Set up and use precision measuring tools and verify conformance to specs.
Conduct tool prove-out on new or reworked tooling.
