Job summary

Medtronic seeks an entry‑level Toolmaker I to support the reliable production of life‑changing medical technologies. Qualifications

• Must have basic mechanical aptitude and an interest in developing toolmaking and machining skills.
• Ability to follow technical instructions, safety procedures, and established work practices.
• Technical school, apprenticeship, or vocational training in tool and die, machining, or a related field.
• Familiarity with reading blueprints, engineering drawings, or technical specs.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture, assemble, modify, maintain, and repair tooling, fixtures, jigs, gauges, molds, and machine components.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and CAD models to complete assigned work.
• Operate manual machine-shop equipment, including mills, lathes, grinders, and drill presses.
• Use precision measuring instruments to inspect completed work and verify dimensional and quality requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance and assist with troubleshooting tooling and production equipment.
• Document tooling repairs, modifications, maintenance activities, and inventory accurately.
