Job summary

Randstad USA in Middletown, CT is seeking a highly skilled Toolmaker to plan, execute, and inspect complex manufacturing jobs including tooling, molds, dies, jigs, and fixtures. You will bridge engineering concepts and finished parts while supporting customer quoting when needed.

This position requires 5 years of toolmaking experience and a High School diploma, with hands-on work on CNC lathes, milling, grinding, drilling, welding, and CAD drawing.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in toolmaking or related manufacturing roles.
• High School diploma required; additional technical courses a plus.
• Experience translating engineering designs into production processes.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer drawings and specifications into manufacturing steps.
• Identify materials and external services needed and communicate with teams.
• Read and produce precise engineering drawings using CAD and manual drafting.
• Set up and operate CNC lathes, milling, grinding, drilling, and welding equipment.
• Safely use hand tools for toolmaking and die maintenance.
• Apply pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical and electronic knowledge to machines.

Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Toolmaker to plan, execute, and inspect complex manufacturing jobs, including custom tooling, assemblies, molds, dies, jigs, and fixtures. In this role, you will bridge the gap between engineering concepts and finished products while occasionally supporting customer quoting processes.

salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year

shift: First

work hours: 7 AM - 4 PM

education: High School

Responsibilities

• Translate customer engineering documents, drawings, and specifications into logical, efficient manufacturing processes.
• Identify necessary raw materials and external service provider requirements, communicating needs directly to internal teams.
• Read, interpret, and produce precise engineering drawings using CAD software as well as manual drafting techniques.
• Set up, operate, and maintain advanced workshop machinery, including CNC lathes, milling, grinding, drilling, and welding equipment.
• Safely operate and select appropriate hand tools (grinders, drills, stones) for toolmaking and die maintenance.
• Utilize principles of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, and electronic systems applied to molding, injection, pressing, and related machinery.
