Job summary

Precision Resource in Huntington Beach, CA is seeking a Toolmaker for 2nd shift after training on 1st shift. You will manufacture and repair tooling, read engineering drawings, perform major rebuilds, and support precision grinding.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 4 years of apprenticeship in Tool & Die making, and 5+ years building stamping dies, form grinding, and using manual toolroom equipment. Join a family-owned company with extensive benefits.

Position Summary

We are looking for a Toolmaker to manufacture and repair tooling, or to perform major rebuilding of existing production tooling to engineering prints in accordance with developed standards and production requirements. Toolmakers also make job specific fixtures and gauges and are responsible for precision machining & grinding.

What You’ll Do

• Knowledge and experience with using all types of measuring tools (Micrometer, Caliper, toolmakers scope, etc.)
• Knowledge of English & Metric systems of measurement
• Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations and IATF 16949 quality systems
• Competent written and verbal communication ability
• Hand dexterity
• Interpersonal skills
• Work is specialized, which requires high degree of skill and close limits of accuracy & ingenuity.
• Mechanical aptitude
• Technical mathematics
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Thorough knowledge of tool and die manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment.
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
• Basic understanding of metallurgy involved with tool and die steels.

What You Bring

• Graduation from high school or receipt of equivalent degree (GED)
• Completion of 4 years of apprenticeship in Tool & Die making.
