Job summary

South Coast Mold, Inc. in Irvine, CA seeks a skilled Tool Maker to build precision aluminum dies from CAD models and blueprints to finished tooling.

You will work across our shop with CNC and manual equipment to produce tight-tolerance dies for aerospace and automotive parts. Ideal candidates have experience in a machine shop or tool and die, with CNC programming and CAD/CAM proficiency, strong blueprint reading, and the ability to read prints and fixtures.

Qualifications

• Experience in a machine shop or tool and die environment.
• CNC machining experience.
• CAD/CAM proficiency; capable with lathe, drilling, and grinding operations.
• Experience cutting aluminum.
• Strong blueprint reading skills.
• Inspection and layout experience.
• Ability to design fixtures and set up work for machining.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Machine die components using CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
• Cut aluminum and other tooling materials to print specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints and CAD models.
• Program and run Mori Seiki CNC equipment using CAD/CAM.
• Design, fixture, and set up work for machining.
• Perform layout and inspection.
• Fit, assemble, and finish dies, making adjustments as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

The Role

We're looking for a skilled Tool Maker to build precision aluminum dies from CAD model and blueprint to finished tool. You'll work across our machine shop, using both manual and CNC equipment, to produce tight-tolerance tooling.
