Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Tool Room Supervisor to lead training initiatives and direct tool room staff in a manufacturing setting in the United States. The role involves coordinating with the tooling manager and maintenance, ensuring proper care of equipment, and enforcing safety and company policies.

The candidate should hold a Certified Journeyman Tool Maker credential, have strong leadership and organizational skills, and be capable of lifting heavy loads and operating a forklift safely.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Certified Journeyman Tool Maker required.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and direct employees.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to complete multiple tasks.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds multiple times per day and lift 50-75 lbs overhead.
• Experience operating a forklift safely in high-traffic areas.
• Adequate hearing for warnings and alarms.
• Ability to work at heights and in awkward positions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development and training of new employees and direct others in their work habits.
• Collaborate with tooling manager and Maintenance to develop and implement training programs.
• Oversee the proper care of company property and equipment.
• Coordinate with Scheduling to ensure project awareness and coordination between departments.
• Prioritize work with other department supervisors in the company interest.
• Assist HR with screening and interviewing potential Tool Room employees.
• Assist Tooling and Engineering Departments at other Amcor facilities as needed.
• Enforce all company policies, work rules, and safety practices.
• Develop new Tool Room policies to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Maintain records on maintenance performed on all molds and dies.
