Job summary

Amcor is seeking an Assistant Group Leader for the Tool Room in Lawrence, Kansas. You will assist in directing Tool Room personnel, coordinate maintenance priorities, and support preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.

You will also help train employees, maintain accurate mold records, and ensure safety standards are followed while driving continuous improvement across the department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Good math, problem solving and communication skills.
• Ability to use basic measuring tools such as micrometers and gauges.
• Willingness to lift up to 35 pounds and stand for 8 hours.
• Fork truck experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct and assist Tool Room personnel in day-to-day maintenance of molds and tools.
• Set priorities for mold repairs and maintenance.
• Develop and follow preventive maintenance programs.
• Maintain records of maintenance performed on all molds.
• Procure parts for mold repairs and maintenance.
• Assist in training and development of new employees.
• Enforce safety and company policies and maintain a safe, productive environment.
• Communicate pertinent activities within the department.
