Job summary

LINK Staffing is seeking a Tooling Tech for our North Houston, TX operation. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, repair, and tuning of plastic injection molds, with a Monday–Friday schedule and pay up to $45/hour.

You will read drawings, use precision measuring tools, troubleshoot mold issues, and support mold trials and changes while maintaining accurate repair logs and ensuring safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with injection mold maintenance, mold repair, toolmaking, or related technical field.
• Ability to read technical drawings and understand dimensional requirements.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and attention to safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on plastic injection molds.
• Disassemble, inspect, repair and reassemble injection molds.
• Troubleshoot mold and tooling issues affecting production and part quality.
• Repair or replace damaged mold components and inspect mold cavities, cores and related parts.
• Inspect and repair hot runner systems, heaters and thermocouples.
• Read mold drawings and use precision measuring equipment like micrometers and calipers.
• Operate toolroom equipment and assist with mold modifications and engineering changes.
• Complete maintenance documentation and repair history.
