Job summary

Milgard Windows & Doors, part of MITER Brands, seeks a Tooling Technician II on swing shift in Fife, WA. You will troubleshoot tooling and manufacturing line issues, set up and repair pultrusion tooling, and perform fabrication using blueprints with tight tolerances.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and technical training.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics and drawings.
• Experience with precision tooling, fabrication, and welding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot tooling and manufacturing line issues with Production and Maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
• Set up, align, maintain, repair, and modify pultrusion tooling including dies, performers, and guide systems.
• Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble tooling with care to ensure performance and longevity.
• Inspect tooling for wear, damage, and defects; perform repairs or recommend replacement.
• Support tooling changeovers by locating, staging, aligning, and verifying tooling for upcoming runs.
• Complete small- to medium-sized tooling builds, restoration projects, and tooling repairs.
• Perform fabrication using blueprints, drawings, and specs with tight tolerances.
• Use hand tools, cutting wheels, pneumatic tools, sheet metal shears, and precision measuring instruments.
• Perform TIG welding on thin-gauge stainless and mild steel; silicon bronze experience desirable.
• Operate mills, lathes, brakes, and benders; milling experience is a plus.
• Support continuous improvement to tooling life, product quality, and efficiency.
• Operate forklifts to move, stage, and store tooling when required.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair documentation and follow PPE/safety procedures.

Milgard Windows & Doors, part of MITER BrandsLocation: Fife, WASchedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PMPay: $27.00–$35.00/hour (Depending on Experience) plus $2.00/hour Shift DifferentialMilgard Windows & Doors, part of MITER Brands, is seeking an experienced Tooling Technician II to join our manufacturing team in Fife, WA. This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining, repairing, inspecting, and improving tooling used in our pultrusion manufacturing process.
