About the Role:
The Tooling Technician I plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing operations by ensuring that all tooling equipment is maintained, calibrated, and functioning at optimal levels. This position involves hands‑on work with precision measuring instruments and various machine tools to support the production of high-quality components. The technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on plastic injection molds (cold or hot runner), tooling, and machinery to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules. Collaboration with engineering and production teams is essential to implement tooling improvements and ensure compliance with safety standards. Ultimately, the role contributes to the efficiency and accuracy of the manufacturing process, directly impacting product quality and operational success.
The required skills such as the use of calipers and micrometers are essential for precise measurement and quality control in daily tasks. Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) maintenance skills enable the technician to keep specialized equipment running smoothly, reducing production delays. Proficiency in CNC lathe operation, grinder maintenance, and milling machines allows the technician to support various machining processes effectively. Handling cutting tools and performing mold repairs require attention to detail and manual dexterity to maintain tooling integrity.
