Job description
Duties and responsibilities
Plan for and ensure resources within the Tool rooms are available for all tooling, dies, fixtures and jigs are produced and repaired efficiently, on time and in line with quality standards
Oversee daily tooling support for production
Plan and oversee repairs/preventive maintenance.
Keep detailed records of procurement activity, materials quantity, and specifications; ensure correct meter settings and record these and color matching parts information
Inspect the operation of material handling system and secure the material flow
Recommend solutions to existing processes to reduce waste and increase quantity
Coordinate with Material Handlers to ensure work tickets are completed
Manage the Tooling department and project teams
Interview job applicants and make hiring recommendations
Train and develop direct reports in the skills necessary to perform the work as well as safety and compliance aspects
Evaluate staff performance to recommend personnel actions such as hiring, retention, promotion, transfer, or dismissal
Participate in training as needed
Lead/support implementation of Quick Mold Change techniques (SMED)
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in technical field or combination or education and experience
5 years of experience with plastics injection molding
3+ years of supervisory experience
Valid Driver’s License and Passport
Solid machining experience
Basic understanding of Solidworks and CAM software
