Howmet Aerospace is seeking a Tooling Specialist III - Progressive Die Technician for the 2nd shift at our Fullerton, CA facility. Training on 1st shift will occur for the first 1-2 months.

The role involves complete setup of multi-station progressive dies, testing for accuracy, reading prints, and ensuring first article conformance with precision gauges. Travel and heavy lifting may be required within safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years related experience in repair and maintenance of progressive dies or equivalent experience in a fastener manufacturing company.
• Knowledge of tool room equipment including mills, lathes and grinders.
• Ability to read and understand manufacturers drawings, catalogs, and other instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret product prints.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States; Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsabilités

• Independently sets up multi-station progressive dies and sets up punch presses.
• Tests to assure proper die clearance and uses templates to position dies.
• Reads prints and uses precision measuring instruments to check parts for conformance.
• Performs repairs to eliminate progressive die problems and polishes dies and punches.
• Keeps work area clean and follows safety procedures.
• May train Die Setters and Operators as necessary.
