About This Role

Carrier HVAC's Regional Commercial and Residential sector seeks a Tooling Process Manager to oversee maintenance and performance of Carrier-owned tooling, fixtures, and special equipment across our North American supply chain. Responsibilities include managing CAPEX budgets, developing strategies for tooling reliability, and investigating new product tooling to optimize supplier capabilities. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise, strategic thinking, and supplier management experience to improve tooling equipment at vendor operations.

We welcome applicants residing in the Eastern or Central Time Zones in the USA who are willing to travel 50% within the USA and Mexico, with occasional international travel. This is a remote, individual contributor role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define TPM schedules for Carrier-owned tooling at suppliers.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs with management, customers, production, and suppliers.
  • Maintain supplier tooling asset records.
  • Analyze maintenance data and recommend improvements.
  • Manage the Supplier Tooling Budget based on sales forecasts.
  • Maximize tooling uptime to reduce customer impact.
  • Create bailment agreements ensuring legal and IRS compliance.
  • Review and request budgets for each facility's finance plan.
  • Lead tooling development initiatives.
  • Use ECN knowledge to develop and release tooling designs per Carrier standards.
  • Ensure assets are tracked with Asset IDs.
  • Serve as the main contact for Carrier tooling assets at vendors.
  • Mitigate line shutdown risks due to tooling outages.
  • Include tooling health in business planning, CAPEX, and NPI processes.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years in tooling management (maintenance, assessment, budgeting).
  • 2+ years in supplier auditing or quality engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Excel and Access.
  • Project management and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of tooling design and drawing interpretation.
  • Skills in material management, manufacturing processes (steel, plastic).
