Job summary

HP is seeking a Process and Tooling Engineer to design portions of engineering solutions for mechanical hardware, electronics enclosures, and production tooling. You will work with internal and outsourced partners to ensure high quality, cost-effective outcomes and to validate test plans and tolerances.

The role involves evaluating tooling, supporting rapid prototype development, and guiding vendors on program Deliverables, schedules, and costs.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.
• Typically 0–4 years of work experience in engineering design and solutions.

Responsibilities

• Designs portions of engineering solutions for mechanical hardware and production tooling.
• Collaborates with internal and outsourced partners to develop reliable, cost-effective solutions.
• Implements test plans and validates tolerances, form/fit/function, and margins.
• Evaluates failures and determines root causes.
• Analyzes rapid prototypes integrating electrical, mechanical, and software components.
• Conducts feasibility studies and validation analyses on new/modified designs.
• Manages relationships with outsourced partners, setting expectations on deliverables, quality, schedules and costs.
• Provides guidance to vendor teams resolving challenges and supporting program-level efforts.
• Addresses cross-functional challenges using technical judgment and data.
