Job summary

HP in the United States is seeking an experienced engineer to provide DFM guidance for high-volume thermoplastic injection molding components. You will work with R&D, Manufacturing, and external tooling suppliers to drive tooling, metrology strategies, and quality control plans.

Role requires clear communication with suppliers and internal partners, and leadership within cross-functional teams in a fast-paced new product development environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with injection molding equipment and processing.
• Knowledge of thermoplastic and thermoset materials.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with 3D modeling (PTC Creo preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provides DFM guidance and technical solutions for mechanical and thermoplastic molded components and production tooling.
• Participates in cross-functional project teams to develop reliable, cost-effective, high-quality solutions.
• Develops mold capacity planning considering forecasts, cycle times, and yields.
• Evaluates part failures with cross-functional teams and works with suppliers to implement robust root-cause solutions.
• Develops quality control plans with suppliers from proto to high-volume production.
• Manages relationships with external partners and suppliers on tooling design and development, deliverables, quality, schedules, and costs.
