Job summary

Flex is seeking a Tooling Manufacturing Technician in Libertyville, IL on a rotating shift from 6:30am to 6:30pm. You will work with engineers on setup, calibration, and experiments to help produce parts and assemblies.

This role requires 2–4 years of related experience, advanced technical skills, and the ability to interpret various instructions. You will collect and evaluate operating data, perform rework and quality testing, and contribute to process improvements.

Principle Accountabilities

• Works with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks.
• Works with engineers in conducting experiments.
• Performs rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies.
• Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments or equipment.
• Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process.

Experience

• Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks. Typically requires a minimum of 2 - 4 years of related experience.
• Demonstrates advanced technical skills which may be used to conduct on-the-job training and/or lead/guide other employees.
• Demonstrates broad knowledge of functional techniques and has input to process improvement.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in various forms.
