Job summary

Weiss-Aug in New Kensington, PA seeks an Advanced Tool Design Manager to lead the design and development of progressive stamping dies and tooling systems. You will drive innovation, set engineering standards, and mentor a team of tool designers and engineers across multiple manufacturing domains.

This role emphasizes cost, quality, and scalable tooling solutions for global customers. You will collaborate with product development, operations, and supply chain to deliver tooling from concept

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of progressive stamping die design experience.
• 5+ years of leadership, supervisory, or project management experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks and Logopress.
• Experience in medical devices, automotive, aerospace, electronics or consumer products manufacturing.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Advanced Tool Design function, establishing technical direction and engineering standards.
• Manage and develop a team of Tool Designers, Tool Engineers, and specialists.
• Oversee design and development of complex progressive stamping dies and tooling assemblies.
• Provide guidance on die construction methods, tool steels, heat treatment, coating, and wear-resistant technologies.
• Drive tooling innovation and standardization to support cost, quality and scalability.
