Job summary

HARMAN International is seeking an experienced fixture design engineer in the United States to lead development and validation of production fixtures for new products.

You will optimize SOP fixtures, standardize designs across similar fixtures, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing challenges while ensuring quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years engineering experience with fixtures or transducers preferred.
• Proficient in SolidWorks/AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Fluent in English (speaking and writing).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop fixtures for new product independently.
• Optimize and improve SOP fixtures.
• Standardize design of similar fixtures.
• Address fixture problems in production in a timely manner.

About the Role

• This position is mainly responsible for fixture development and design of new products and the performance verification of fixture.
• Fixture continuous improvement and standardize the design of similar fixtures and file the drawings/documents.

What You Will Do

• Responsible for fixture design and development for new product independently.
• Optimization and improvement of SOP fixture
• Standardized design of similar fixtures
• Deal with fixture problems in production process in time.
• Communicate effectively with other departments

What You Need to Be Successful

• Education: Bachelor’s degree required in Mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Experience: At least 5+ years of experience in engineering background, transducer experience in priority.
• Use Solidworks/Auto CAD/office software (Word, Excel, PPT) well.
• Familiar with fixture design that uses a variety of materials and mechanisms
• Be familiar with the working theory for common equipment.
• Capability to work independently
• Must be fluent in speaking and written in English.

Bonus Points if You Have

• Experience in speaker production
• Familiar with factory audit process
• Rich experience on continuous improvement and lean manufacturing
• Willing to learn
