Job summary

Pridgeon & Clay seeks a Tooling Engineer to support launch teams, ensuring tool and gage designs meet contract requirements and quality standards. The role emphasizes GD&T, SPC, APQP leadership, and collaboration with die shops and customers.

You will drive tooling projects, manage part development, and maintain documentation while coordinating schedules and resources across multiple programs. Travel up to 20% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering or 5+ years in an engineering function with stamping dies
• Experience managing the build process of transfer/progressive stamping dies and tool design
• Understanding of GD&T and SPC
• Experience with CAD/3D modeling software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
• Ability to lead APQP process
• Experience with AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA)
• Strong communication and customer interaction skills
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects and drive on-time completion
• Willingness to travel up to 20%

Responsibilities

• Be the Launch representative and liaison between Launch and Die Shops regarding tool design, build, and documentation
• Serve as SME for tooling in launch programs and ensure on-time completion
• Meet all launch metrics and provide sourcing options to Launch Teams as needed
• Coordinate part development for welded or secondary assemblies
• Review die shop schedules to ensure due dates are met and assist with early parts validation
• Provide technical support at customer meetings to address process questions and feasibility issues
