Job summary

Ferriot Inc. in Akron, OH, seeks a Tooling Engineer to ensure injection molds are safe, functional, and on schedule. You will serve as the primary technical liaison with customers and coordinate tooling through Ferriot’s shop network and suppliers.

Responsibilities include advancing APQP, tracking project progress, and ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery while maintaining Ferriot’s design standards and quality expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level engineering degree or equivalent experience in mold making, mold design or tooling engineering.
• Experience with plastics injection molds, mold building and tooling processes.
• Strong knowledge of APQP, project management, and communication with customers/suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Procure appropriate, functional, well-designed injection molds and manage tooling projects.
• Coordinate with Ferriot Manufacturing, QC, Scheduling and Procurement to keep projects on budget and on time.
• Communicate project progress and issues to stakeholders using ERP/APQP systems.
• Lead project review meetings and approve tool designs for shipment and production.
