Job summary

Silver Line Recruiting LLC is seeking a Tooling Engineer in Akron, OH. The role focuses on plastics mold tooling, project management, and customer coordination to ensure production-ready tooling meets schedule, cost, and quality targets.

Responsibilities include interfacing with customers and suppliers, guiding APQP, and supervising mold design and tooling transfers, while working closely with manufacturing and quality teams. Strong 3D CAD and MFA experience are required.

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of plastics injection molds and mold designs.
• Experience with mold building, resins, and molded tooling processes.
• Understanding of getting injection molds into the press and production.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD; SolidWorks preferred.
• Experience with Mold Filling Analysis (MFA).
• Experience coordinating with outside tool shops.

Responsibilities

• Interfacing with customers, suppliers, and internal staff.
• Assist cost estimating with customer quotations.
• Act as primary technical liaison with customers.
• Coordinate outside tooling and ensure timely tooling completion.
• Manage APQP process and communicate project status to stakeholders.
• Track project scope, schedule, and budget across teams.
