Job summary

Chipton-Ross seeks a Tooling Engineer 1 for a contract opportunity in El Segundo, CA. The role supports our Tool Design department, focusing on tooling for assembly and fabrication processes.

The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in a STEM field, has 2–3 years of related experience, proficiency with Siemens NX or CATIA, and the ability to read GD&T per ASME 14.5. Candidates must be able to obtain a government secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a STEM related field with 2-3 years of experience in engineering, design, tooling, fabrication, or manufacturing environment.
• Experience utilizing Siemens NX/CATIA CAD tools or applicable 3D CAD systems.
• Experience in project management.
• Ability to Read/understand blueprints/GD&T per ASME 14.5.
• Ability to work in a high pace environment.
• Ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support Tool Design department by designing assembly and fabrication tooling.
• Designs industrial machinery and equipment, tools, dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures, and machine attachments for production or experimental use, considering accessibility, economy, mobility, and performance requirements.
