Job summary

Everforth Apex seeks a Tooling Engineer I in El Segundo, CA to design industrial tools, dies, gauges and related tooling for production and experiments. You will collaborate with manufacturing, operations and engineering to ensure tooling meets quality, cost, schedule and safety requirements.

The role requires a Bachelor's in STEM, CAD modeling/drafting experience, knowledge of GD&T, and strong communication and organizational skills. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM required.
• Experience modeling and drafting with CAD tools; knowledge of manufacturing, fabrication and machine shop practices.
• Experience with drawing release criteria and conformity to standards.
• Proficiency in GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2018.

Responsibilities

• Develop tooling concepts and support equipment for new and existing programs.
• Design tooling and equipment with drawings, inspection requirements, and verification plans.
• Review designs for manufacturability, fit, form, and function.
• Identify and mitigate safety risks per standards.
• Develop data and preliminary layouts for design proposals.
• Interface with internal customers and design review teams.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, operations, and process engineering to support objectives.
• Manage tooling projects including cost, schedule, procurement, and fabrication.
• Check layouts and drawings for clarity and accuracy to standards.
• Identify design errors and propose revisions or improvements.
• Support vendors during fabrication and inspect tooling for drawing compliance.
• Support continuous improvement and root-cause investigations.
