Job summary

Alltrista Plastics LLC is seeking a Tooling Engineer to join its plastics tooling team. You will work with Sales and Engineering to translate part designs into effective mold solutions, lead mold design reviews with suppliers, and approve designs before builds.

You will source qualified suppliers, manage quotes for molds and machinery, and support accurate pricing. The role involves FAT/IQ/OQ/PQ testing and up to 20% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Management or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years in plastics tooling or tooling management.
• Experience with injection molding, mold trials, and capital tooling projects.

Responsibilities

• Work with Sales and Engineering to define molding solutions for part designs.
• Contribute to mold design decisions and specify components for new molds.
• Approve mold designs before builds and lead supplier design reviews.
• Source qualified suppliers and manage high-volume quotes for molds and machinery.
• Provide supplier quote information to support accurate part and project pricing.
• Improve quoting processes and maintain an up-to-date Approved Supplier List.
• Monitor mold and machine builds and conduct FAT/IQ/OQ/PQ verifications.
• Support Account & Program Managers with technical execution; travel up to 20%.
